Tom Hughes

I joined Team Teal in November 2024; before this role, I was an AML Manager at a large law firm where I was responsible for training, policies & procedures and assisting with complex and often higher-risk client onboardings.

Before working in the legal sector, I gained experience in the financial services sector within a busy KYC team at an investment bank, as well as working in a sanctions team for a high street UK bank.

I have a passion for all things AML compliance and enjoy sharing that knowledge through training sessions that are not just informative but practical.

Expertise

I have extensive experience in AML compliance, and more recently, I have developed a special interest in Cryptocurrency.

Career highlights

I am really passionate about the work I do, and I enjoy helping law firms improve their AML processes and getting out training lawyers to help keep them and their clients safe.

My career highlight to date was being offered the job here at Teal. When I first started working in legal services, I attended the Law Society’s AML conference, and as I sat in one of Amy’s sessions for the first time, I knew that I wanted to work for Amy one day, as I learnt so much in that one session. That is what Teal offers: a wealth of expertise and a team full of people who care about helping others.
