About Saba
I’m an Associate at Teal Compliance, with over a decade of experience in compliance and risk across both FCA-regulated financial services and the legal sector. I’ve built my career on turning complex regulatory requirements into clear, practical solutions that work, without losing sight of commercial reality.
I work closely with law firms of all shapes and sizes, helping them build genuinely effective compliance programmes, not just tick-box exercises. Whether it’s carrying out independent audits, drafting policies, controls and procedures, conducting bespoke file reviews, answering technical compliance queries, or supporting legal practices, I bring a practical, honest and solutions-focused approach to everything I do.
Expertise
I have extensive expertise in all areas of compliance, including:
- AML compliance, incorporating the Money Laundering, Terrorist Financing and Transfer of Funds (Information on the Payer) Regulations 2017, the Legal Sector Affinity Group Guidance 2025, and the SRA Sectoral Risk Assessments.
- Regulatory compliance under the Financial Conduct Authority, including experience with the Consumer Credit Sourcebook, Treating Customers Fairly and its evolution into Consumer Duty, ensuring customers achieve good outcomes, with a particular focus on vulnerable customers and regulated complaints.
- Risk management, data protection under the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018, quality assurance, internal controls, and fraud prevention.
Career highlights
I’ve been privileged to work with both legal and financial services sectors, where I’ve introduced compliance processes and procedures from the ground up, created bespoke policies, strengthened risk culture, and helped teams navigate complex regulations with confidence.
I also had the opportunity to work at a Law Firm of the Year, where I contributed to building a strong culture of regulatory compliance and risk management. That experience allowed me to bring structure, consistency, and insight to high-stakes departments, and it reinforced my belief that when embedded correctly, compliance not only empowers staff, teams and departments but, most importantly, protects clients.
