About Eilish
I am a Senior Solicitor having qualified in 2013 in England and Wales. My background is predominantly litigation including many complex cases. In my previous firm I also held numerous titles as a Salaried Partner including Head of Litigation, Deputy COLP and Complaints Partner.
I joined Teal in November 2022 as a Senior Associate.
Expertise
My expertise covers a wide range of compliance areas, including AML, SRA Regulation, Data Protection and CQS accreditation. My working week is extremely varied, ranging from Data Protection Masterclasses for large international law firms to carrying out AML Policy Reviews for small high street firms. We service both law firms in England and Wales (SRA Regulation) as well as law firms in Scotland (Law Society of Scotland Regulation).
As Head of Partnerships, my primary role is to oversee the delivery of work to our long-term contractual clients for their compliance needs. Some of our work can be reactive in nature, for example when a firm is undergoing an investigation via their regulator. Alternatively, many of our contractual clients take a proactive approach and are with us to ensure they have robust compliance framework in place, including PCPs, training and supervisory oversight.
Given the current regulatory landscape, it is important that we are open and honest with our clients in terms of our findings and what work is required to close any gaps. We offer practical solutions that are tailored to each firm- the ‘one size fits all’ approach is not how we operate.
My legal background has allowed me to experience first-hand some of the difficulties that law firms can face, such as caseload pressures, financial pressures, cultural issues, lack of resources and IT support. As a result, I aim to deliver our services in a pragmatic and non-judgemental fashion.
Career Highlights
My first career highlight has been completing a comprehensive CQS Audit for a law firm, which has helped them assess their current gaps whilst also providing them with a roadmap to implement our recommendations.
My second career highlight covers the range of onsite training I have delivered to our law firms clients for which I have received excellent feedback. I appreciate that for some compliance can be seen as a dry subject so to obtain staff- engagement on these important topics gives a great sense of job-satisfaction.
I am also proud to have drafted many of our monthly Teal Newsletters, our quarterly AML & SRA Regulatory Chronicles as well as being published in Today’s Conveyancer in relation to CQS work.
